This $75 million fundraising campaign – the largest in SU's nearly 100-year history – is all about people. Our students. Our faculty and staff. Our alumni. Our parents and families. Our donors and friends. Our community. Together, We Are All SU.
WE ARE SU | The Campaign For Salisbury University
We Are SU
What does SU mean to you? The “We Are SU” Campaign is an investment in the people who comprise our campus, supporting the students of today and tomorrow. SU President Charles Wight joined members of the SU Foundation and Alumni Association boards, faculty and staff, longtime donors and supporters, and friends from the greater community for a festive debut and celebration in June, publicly launching the fundraising effort.
In 2017, Dave and Patsy Rommel made a firm commitment to helping a new generation of entrepreneurs: a $5.5 million gift to support SU’s Center for Entrepreneurship in downtown Salisbury and other activities of the campus and its Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. Now Dave is chairing the “We Are SU” Campaign for the SU Foundation, Inc., encouraging others to follow in their footsteps and invest in SU as an investment in the community.
SU launched the largest fundraising campaign in campus history during a festive celebration with more than 200 members of the campus and greater community in attendance. "We Are SU: The Campaign for Salisbury University" aims to raise $75 million for scholarships, faculty and program enhancements, and more.
Jason Curtin, SU vice president of advancement and external affairs and executive director of the SU Foundation, Inc.; and Dave Rommel, campaign chair, discuss the importance of philanthropy and what it means to the University during this month’s episode of SU on the Air on PAC 14.READ MORE
Our alumni are our legacy. They are the teachers in our classrooms, the nurses in our hospitals, the civil servants in our government and the entrepreneurs creating jobs in our communities. Our diverse and dynamic students need a broad educational experience to prepare them for a challenging future. During their lifetimes, they will make multiple career changes, solve problems we cannot imagine and live with dizzying change. We produce the continuous learners who will be an integral part of our society and communities in the 21st century. Together, we can provide scholarships and resources to unlock students’ limitless potential.
Learning is an evolutionary journey of discovery about self, knowledge and the world. Students learn truths about life on athletic fields, with clubs and organizations, and in the classroom and community. Guiding them are SU faculty and staff, who become trusted mentors and role models. Our teacher-scholars provide excellent learning opportunities. Coaches help student-athletes compete and succeed. Other caring professionals support intellectual and emotional growth. The heart of our University, they all play critical roles in supporting each student. Together, we can help dedicated faculty and staff open doors and inspire unequaled experiences.
SU is an integral part of the Delmarva Peninsula. As a regional, comprehensive university, we not only educate students but serve as a resource for our neighbors, with centers and institutes, events and activities, performing ensembles and artists, and countless opportunities for learning and interaction. Civic engagement is a pillar of students’ education – and our campus is a hub for cultural experiences, new ideas and entrepreneurial thought. We play a vital role in the area we call home, creating opportunities and inspiring action. Together, we can enrich collaborations woven across the region, strengthening our communities.
